It’s time to say hello to the colder months and look for new skincare recommendations! As someone with sensitive and combination skin, I typically look to doubling down on hydrating products to avoid drying out and flakiness! Here are a few holy grail-worthy winter skincare must-haves this time of year!
1La Roche Posay Toleraine Hydrating Gentle Facial Cleanser
I have acne-prone skin, so I typically use a cleanser that keeps my skin clear and clean. In the colder months, I like to ensure that my skin does not feel stripped and dehydrated. This hydrating daily face wash is suitable for normal to dry skin and is excellent for sensitive skin. I enjoy this product because it has amazing ingredients like niacinamide and ceramides. The cleanser is super gentle, hydrating, comforting, and non-stripping. I like that it feels silky and soft on the skin and cleanses off well without leaving any oily residue on my skin.
2Laneige Cream Skin Toner & Moisturizer
You can’t spend winter without a cream toner; this one from Laneige is the perfect example! While this product looks like a milky liquid, you’ll quickly notice that the toner provides moisturizing benefits similar to applying a cream! The toner uses white-leaf tea water and other hydrating ingredients to nourish and protect your skin barrier; another plus! I love how this toner’s easy to use and works well with a cotton pad or your hands! But if you prefer to apply your toners mess-free, Laneige has a mist version of this product! While I like the toner, the mist is also perfect for hydrating throughout the day!
3Kiehl’s Since 1851 Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado
While I don’t struggle with dark circles, I experience dehydrated undereyes during the colder months. I’m not an avid eye cream user, but when I want to give my undereyes some attention, this Kiehl’s eye cream is an all-time favorite! I love that it visibly hydrates my undereyes and makes them feel smooth and soft. Plus, the texture is deliciously luxurious and glides on without greasiness!
4La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm B5
This balm is my all-year-round holy grail and one of the winter skincare must-haves! It’s perfect for rebuilding broken skin barriers and soothing dry and chapped skin, thanks to panthenol, shea butter, and madecassoside. The rich and thick texture helps alleviate my dry skin when applied on top or as my moisturizer step and leaves it looking plump and beautiful by the morning. I also love how the balm’s versatile; you can use it on the body, face, and lips! And for oily skin types, this balm is perfect for spot-treating rough patches and post-acne scars!
5Etude House SoonJung 2X Barrier Intensive Cream
My sensitive and combination skin enjoys products with panthenol, so this cream is undoubtedly my favorite! The moisturizer contains panthenol, madecassoside, sunflower seed oil, and shea butter; perfect for nourishing my skin and preventing it from feeling dry and tight! Although this product is similar to the La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5, the texture is lighter and not as occlusive. All skin types can benefit from incorporating it into their routine during the colder weather!
6Innisfree Ginger Honey Sleeping Mask
When I find that a thick moisturizer isn’t enough for my daily routine, I like to use a hydrating sleeping mask! This Innisfree sleeping mask hits all the boxes since it contains all the right ingredients for keeping my skin balanced and moisturized! I love that I can layer the mask over my moisturizer step without worrying about the combination potentially clogging up my pores. Instead, I love waking up and seeing my skin looking fresh, dewy, and bright, with zero dryness!
