5 Beauty Juice Recipes for Glowing Skin

Inspiration behind the Beauty Juice Recipes

How many of you have heard the saying, “eat with the seasons?” In TCM, the spring and the summer months are a time where we should focus on our favorite cooling foods to combat the heat outside, and achieve a healthy balance with our skin and our bodies.

For our five Beauty Juice Recipes, we focused on incorporating some of these cooling foods like cucumber, matcha, grapefruit, cucumber, lemon, and lime into our drinks for sweet, refreshing, and tart drinks that perfectly fit the hot weather!

1. Matcha-holic Mojito

Matcha-holic Mojito | 5 Beauty Juice Recipes for Glowing Skin

We can think of this as a matcha spritzer! This refreshing drink is cooling, tart, and sweet, with bright earthy notes from the matcha base shining through.

What are the benefits of this beauty juice recipe?

We chose matcha as the base ingredient due to its cooling properties and rich antioxidant profile. Matcha is a fine vibrant green powder made from ground green tea leaves for those who don’t know.

Not only does matcha go along with the bright, citrusy notes from the lime (another cooling ingredient), but it also contains caffeine to perk you up and energize you throughout the day.

2. Glow-Tastic Grapefruit Sparkler

Glow-Tastic Grapefruit Sparkler | 5 Beauty Juice Recipes for Glowing Skin

Grapefruits are sweet, bitter, sour, and…did we mention sweet?

The Glow-Tastic Grapefruit Sparkler is a perfect way of bringing out all the complex flavor notes from the grapefruit. We added a dash of lemon juice to brighten the entire drink for that extra zing. And if you’re feeling a little fancy, add a sugar rim to elevate your drink!

What are the benefits of this beauty juice recipe?

Grapefruit is an excellent fruit for aiding digestion and gut health while filling you with essential vitamins and nutrients. In TCM, grapefruit is also a cooling fruit, which means it’s helpful for people with bad digestion, decreased appetite, and dry coughs.

And since it’s a citrus fruit, grapefruit is rich in vitamin C to help fight free radical damage inside our bodies.

3. Cool-Cumber Refresher

Cool-Cumber Refresher | 5 Beauty Juice Recipes for Glowing Skin

You know what they say: cool as a cucumber! This refresher isn’t an ordinary drink – it’s the perfect way of rehydrating yourself when you’ve been out and about during the hot summer day.

Since the cucumber has a mild and crisp flavor, we like to use this as a base while the sparkling ginger ale and lime juice opens the taste buds with pops of bright flavor. You can also add in some mint for additional cooling effects and for visual appeal!

What are the benefits of this beauty juice recipe?

Just like how we turn to cucumbers for calming and depuffing sunburnt or inflamed skin, cucumber is a fantastic ingredient known to clear internal heat and inflammation in the body.

It’s also one of the top alkaline fruits that can help rebalance the body’s natural pH levels, reduce bloating, and help with fluid retention. This can be beneficial especially if your body’s thrown off balance from a day of indulging in fried, fatty, salty, or greasy foods.

Sun-Kissed Strawberry Mocktail | 5 Beauty Juice Recipes for Glowing Skin

This mocktail is the sweetest of the five recipes but makes for a gorgeously pink and delicious drink! This drink combines a strawberry puree base with lemon-ginger syrup for a zing and a warm hint of spice, while the strawberry basil seltzer tops the drink with a refreshing herbal flavor.

What are the benefits of this beauty juice recipe?

Strawberries are more than just a sweet snack – they’re chock full of nutrients, including Vitamin C! Just one serving of strawberries (about eight) can provide more vitamin C than an orange.

And speaking of citrus fruits, this beauty juice recipe incorporates some lemon juice to brighten up the sweet strawberry and perk us up from the midday fatigue. Let’s not also forget the superstar ingredient: ginger!

This spice is notorious for calming digestion or stomach related troubles – whether they’re cramps, nausea, indigestion and the like. As for the taste, it’ll add a delightfully warming and spicy element to your drink!
