Turmeric latte thumbnail

Turmeric latte is my favorite drink, especially during the colder months, because turmeric is such a warming spice. In Sanskrit, turmeric is called “kanchani”, which translates to “Golden Goddess”. This herb has earthy, bitter, and pungent properties. It also helps absorb excess water, which is recommended for balancing the pitta dosha in Ayurveda, but make sure not to take it in excess.

Similarly, balancing Yin and Yang is a key concept in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) – Yin is cold in nature while Yang is hot in nature. Turmeric is known to invigorate the blood and is recommended for people who have more Yin properties in their body to reach a more harmonious Yin-Yang balance.
