7 Winter Skincare Faves For Healthy Skin

When the weather gets cold, it’s normal to experience changes to your skin regardless of skin type! In light of National Winter Skin Relief Day (January 8), we reached out to our online community and asked them what products they’ve been enjoying lately. Here are their go-to winter skincare products and tips to keep their skin healthy and glowing!

1Cetaphil Lotion

Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion

“I have acne-prone skin and combination skin! My go-to product for the winter will be the Cetaphil lotion. Even though it is a very basic and cheap product, it helps calm my inflamed skin. I also use Isotretinoin that my dermatologist prescribed for me, and it can sometimes destroy my skin barrier! But the Cetaphil lotion helps me the most, especially with the cold weather.”

Tip: “When I feel my skin burning or itching from my therapy and the cold weather, I love slugging even though I have acne-prone skin! Be careful if you have acne-prone skin though, and don’t do this too often!” Rodanthi (@rodanthi.gram)

2La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 Soothing Therapeutic Multi Purpose Cream

“I have combination, acne-prone, and suuuuper sensitive skin! The La Roche Posay’s Cicaplast Baume is always a go-to because of how thick and creamy it is without clogging my pores.”

Tip: “After cleansing my face, I love layering on a mist, specifically the Adaptogen Activated one from Youth to the People. When my skin is still damp, I mist it everywhere as many times as I want. Then, pat it in and layer a heavy dollop of the La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume on top!” —J (@prettyprivatethings)

3Neogen White Truffle Serum in Oil Drop

“I have a normal/combo skin type. When the weather gets cold, my go-to skincare product is a hydrating oil and a heavier moisturizer. This year, I tried the Neogen White Truffle Serum in Oil Drop and MediHeal N.M.F Intensive Hydrating Cream.”

Tip: “Something that I love doing when I notice my skin feeling dry or dehydrated is adding in a gentle exfoliation, sheet mask, and a sleeping mask step to my nighttime routine! I also try to incorporate sheet masks into my daily routine when it’s cold!” — Kristin (@konichiwakristin)

4Sioris Cleanse Me Softly Milk Cleanser

“I have oily and acne-prone skin in summer and normal skin in winter, which means I use entirely different products between the seasons to avoid dry, stripped skin.

My go-to cleanser is the Sioris Cleanse Me Softly Milk Cleanser for the wintertime since it balances my face’s pH while gently softening the skin with Macadamia Seed Oil, Coconut, and Corn.

I follow up with the Haruharu WONDER Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner, which restores hydration and nourishment into the skin.

And finally, I always end my routine with a soothing sleeping mask such as the Fresh Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask or Purito’s Dermide Cica Barrier Sleeping Pack; the latter of which is packed with hyaluronic acid and ceramides to help protect our skin from the cold and dry atmosphere while we sleep.”— Beth (@its.bethanieee)

5I’m From Mugwort Essence

“My skin type is combination and sensitive. I live in Florida, so it rarely gets cold here, but since the temperature fluctuates so much, my skin kind of hates it. The I’m From Mugwort Essence is super unique for my skin, and that’s the only thing that will calm down my redness and feel hydrating and soothing on my finicky skin around this time of year while living in a more tropical climate.”

Tip: “This may sound weird, but my tip is to check the weather. I always like to see what’s going on outside so I know which products to apply that day. I look at the temperature, UV index, and humidity percentage, which helps me decide what products I should use in the mornings. If it’s going to be super humid out, I’ll use products that aren’t too thick and more of a gel base as an example!” — Channing (@channingblake)

6Etude House Soon Jung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream

Etude House Soon Jung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream

“My skin is oily, oily, oily! I live in Florida, and it’s very humid and hot at the moment. However, my skin is very sensitive to temperature, so any sign of wind will leave my skin parched. I’m currently using Etude House Soon Jung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream. Despite being a cream, it is very light on my skin and doesn’t feel heavy or greasy. I love it!”

Tip: “Whenever I have dehydrated skin, my tip is to skip the morning cleanser and rinse with water. Sometimes I just straight to a hydrating toner (I’m currently loving the Goodal Cordata Calming Essence).” — Yen/Yeni (@reffiney09)

7Biossance Omega + Squalane Repair Cream

“My current winter skincare routine includes the Biossance Omega + Squalane Repair Cream and the Goodal Calming Essence for my combination and sensitive skin. The Fresh Rose Lip Balm is a must, and for the body, I’m obsessed with the Josie Maran Whipped Body Cream! My night isn’t complete without all these products!”

Tip: “My tip for dry, dehydrated skin is to layer up! I don’t like using one thick cream during the winter. I prefer the feeling of a lightweight moisturizer, and I found that adding a hydrating serum (the Skinfood Propolis Serum) before my moisturizer helps keep my skin extra juicy throughout the night. When the air around me gets dry, my lips and throat are usually the first to feel it. When that’s the case, I will put on a lip mask or balm before hitting the covers and keep a humidifier running close to my bed!” — Lucy (@pandarh)
