Krave's Waste Me Not Campaign: Body Wash Made From Waste?
Featured Image by Angela Zhong

From pilot productions to damaged products, returns, and too much inventory, it’s alarming to hear how much waste the Beauty Industry goes through regularly. As much as we’d love to minimize waste, it’s inevitable and impossible to avoid producing altogether. But that doesn’t mean the situation is hopeless; one brand’s stepping up to spread awareness and find solutions to reuse the otherwise wasted product. Here are all the deets for the Krave Beauty Waste Me Not campaign!

Krave's Waste Me Not

Krave Beauty Waste Me Not Campaign explained!

Krave Beauty wasn’t kidding when it said the beauty industry produces a lot of waste. For them, a failed reformulated pilot batch of the Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser led to excess product (over ten bathtubs worth of cleansers) and 1.5 million dollars in waste waiting to, quite literally, hit the drain. But as we came to know this brand and its CEO Liah Yoo, Krave Beauty is not about leaving waste behind. Instead, this problem led to a clever solution: if they’re about recycling their packaging, why not recycle the failed product batch?

Lo and behold, the antioxidant-rich cleanser has now transformed into a body wash! And best of all, it’s only $8, with the price covering the product cost, packaging, compliance, safety testing, and shipping: no extra charges and no frills.

But wait, there’s more!

The latest jelly oil cleanser, Makeup Re-Wined, is also part of the Krave Beauty Waste Me Not campaign at a discount!

For this particular cleanser, Liah noted how achieving its unique and bouncy jelly texture was challenging to nail down and led to countless rejected batches from multiple sample production runs. But instead of leaving these pilot batches behind, the brand decided to sell them at half the price of the original cleanser. Aside from the runny formula, the product retains the usual quality performance and ingredient goodness, so you cleanse without worrying!
