There’s nothing like the good ol’ vitamin C to address multiple skincare concerns! But with many vitamin C products out in the market at various price points, finding the right product can get super overwhelming. So we’re here to share with you a vitamin C serum that did wonders for our coworker, Mel!

Let’s talk about Mel’s experiences!
If you’ve been following our Instagram account @beautywithinofficial, you probably saw a before and after image of a hand floating around in our stories a while back.
That’s actually real-time results taken from Mel! Amazing, isn’t it? We actually received a lot of feedback from that story, so we figured, why not have her on to share her experiences? So that’s what we did. I got to block out a few minutes to sit down and ask Mel to recount her experiences using Derma E’s Vitamin C Concentrated Serum. Here’s what she said:
Q: Let’s talk about how you got that discolored blotch on your hand. What happened?
A: I’m not sure what exactly happened either! One day I looked at my hand, and I was like, “what happened here?” I went to Fel and asked for product suggestions. She just gave me the serum, told me to use it alongside sunscreen and come back when the “melanin was in order.”
Q: So seeing how you got those spots on your hand, you’ve been going out a lot, right?
A: Yeah. I’ve been out a lot for work and in areas with lots of sun. I’ve also been doing a lot of driving too.
Q: How did you use the product? Did you have any reactions?
A: I slathered it on my hand and face day and night, and put on the Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF50 on afterwards in the mornings. I didn’t have any reactions to the product.
Q: How long did it take for you to see results?
A: It took a month of consistent use before I started seeing results. Actually, the before and after pictures were taken a month apart.

So what’s this magical vitamin C serum?
Listed at close to $25 on their website but can be less on other retailers, the Derma E’s Vitamin C Concentrated Serum markets itself as a fast-absorbing serum containing all the potent effects of vitamin C without irritation. The secret ingredient is Stay-C 50, a trademark ingredient that contains vitamin C derivative Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate.
Tell me more about Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate!
This ingredient is a stabilized form of pure vitamin C, a potent antioxidant that can play many skin benefitting roles that your L-Ascorbic acid serums can do. For example, it can scavenge free radicals, stimulate collagen production, lighten up hyperpigmentation, and improve skin firmness.
What are some other notable ingredients?
Besides the sodium ascorbyl phosphate, this serum contains skin repairing, hydrating, and nourishing ingredients. Aloe leaf juice, sodium hyaluronate, and panthenol work to provide hydration and moisture, while rosehip seed oil and tocopheryl acetate help nourish the skin. And for that extra brightening power, the green tea leaf extract is there to help even out the complexion.
All in all, this product seems promising. If you’re interested in a budget-friendly serum that can help lighten up your hyperpigmentation, especially caused by the sun, this could be worth investing in!
